Our latest innovation, Amara®, a series of stocked and customized wheelchair cushions, offer unique flexibility in selecting the appropriate cushion and allows the specialist to streamline their cushion choice into one product line.

Amara® allows the rehabilitation specialist to create the optimum seating environment to properly position a patient, redistribute pressure and prevent skin breakdown. The unique molded design, with slight abductor pommel, stabilizes the hips and keeps the patient in proper mid-line alignment. The low profile, lightweight design allows for ease of transfers and foot propelling.

COMPONENTS - Positioning Bases in Conjunction with Pressure Redistribution Inserts
Amara® is a component based system which offers a variety of positioning bases in conjunction with a selection of pressure redistribution inserts. Amara’s innovative deep well design is incorporated into the cushion's high density Medflex® or Viscotec® visco elastic foam base under the ischials and coccyx. The rehabilitation specialists choice of pressure redistribution Viscotec® visco elastic foam, Soft-Flo® viscous gel, Gel-Flex® solid gel or Dynamic Air Cell inserts, redistribute pressure and reduce shearing forces.

Our unique combination of Viscotec® Memory Foam and Med-Flex® VPF™ Foam provides the ultimate in pressure redistribution and patient comfort. Our body temperature reactive Viscotec® memory foam conforms to the patients body dimension, providing exceptional therapeutic cushioning and support. The selected foam combination reacts to body weight displacement across the entire surface. Height retention loss is eliminated, offering effective clinical outcomes combined with patient comfort.

Soft-Flo® Gel Insert
Dual chamber lightweight viscous gel bladder comprising of 2.5 inches of Soft-Flo®, which allows for immersion of the ischials, sacral, coccyx areas without the additional force that can be caused by certain liquid gel modalities.
Gel-Flex® Insert in Molded Viscotec® Foam
Dual layer Gel-Flex® and Viscotec® visco elastic foam bladder combination, combines two excellent modalities of addressing pressure redistribution. This results in a superior therapeutic skin protection surface for all individuals including bariatric patients.
Gel-Flex® does not bottom out, leak or evaporate.
Viscotec® Visco Elastic Foam Insert
Viscotec® allows for a cost effective means to help in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. The qualities of Viscotec® allows the ischials and coccyx to receive proper pressure redistribution and support.

Dynamic Air Cell Insert
Sixteen individual air cells adjust dynamically to body weight to provide a proper pressure redistribution surface.

Solid Seat Insert
High grade wood solid seat insert helps eliminate the sagging effect and hammocking of most wheelchair sling seats. Insert enhances patient’s posture and safety.
COVER
  
Vyvex® III multi-directional stretch fabric wicks moisture away from patient’s skin. The removable zippered cover is low shear, washable, anti-microbial, fluid resistant and fire retardant. The cover is anti-microbial and meets California Technical Bulletin #117 for fire-retardancy. The bottom cover is a non-skid material which helps to prevent the cushion from shifting. For added safety we have included an adjustable safety strap on the back of every cushion so it may be properly attached to the wheelchair.
